Joshua’s is a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation dedicated to serving the hunger needs of the economically disadvantaged in the community. Everyone at Joshua's is an unpaid volunteer. No one receives a salary. Our volunteers total hundreds of hours each month to help our community. Joshua's collects food for totally free distribution to people in need. Our clients come in once a week to get groceries at no cost to them. They receive a weekly Up-Front Box, and, once a month, they receive a Voucher-Box as well. We no longer require Vouchers from outside agencies, except for those issued by School Nurses. Instead, we do our own Vouchers in-house now. This saves our clients from having to spend extra time and gas or bus money to get a Voucher from elsewhere.
In addition to the donated groceries we receive, we have to purchase five to six thousand dollars’ worth of food each month. We help to feed between 2,000 and 4,000 people each month, and we see an average of eight or ten new individuals or families each day we’re open.
We provide special foods for those with diabetes or Celiac Disorder (allergy to gluten). For those with high blood-pressure, we can provide salt-substitute (potassium chloride). We try to keep on-hand vegetarian foods. People who have dietary restrictions for medical or religious reasons should make their food preferences known to us so that we may try to accommodate them.
We recommend other agencies to clients for things and services which we do not provide.
We are completely ecumenical and non-denominational.

Mercer Family Resource Center has been serving Natrona County since 1973 with the mission to be a family resource center providing family and youth programming, counseling, and referral services that build stronger and healthier youth and families in Natrona County. We serve the community by providing services in four arenas: family/parenting education; early intervention for alcohol use and life skills; community connections, such as mentoring and case management; and environmental strategies for policy change and social norming. We serve an average of 500 families each year, in addition to the thousands of county residents we reach with our education campaigns. Last year our family programming participants showed a 130% increase in effective parenting skills and they demonstrated significant improvement in family conflict and family management skills. We have an excellent track record in reducing the number of out-of-home placements in our community as a result of our collaboration with DFS and other community agencies. We believe that all kids benefit when the community joins together to support the health and wellbeing of our families. Families are the heart of Natrona County.

St. Vincent de Paul is a local non-profit thrift store in Casper, WY. We are committed to helping those in need in Casper and Natrona County. We have been in the community since approximately 1970. Hours are Monday-Saturday 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. The store is open to the public and accepts donations during normal business hours only, there is not an after hours drop-off. The store operates with one full-time employee (Director), approximately 25-35 volunteers (our volunteers donate time weekly, monthly and on a drop in basis), and a Board of Directors from the 3 Catholic Churches and community. We accept clothing, books, household items, kitchen items, shoes, acessories, baby items, and just about anything else. We DO NOT accept large furniture or appliances. On a case by case basis we can take in beds, dressers, and some other various furniture if there is an immediate family in need. Donors are asked to call the Director first to see if the larger items can be taken at that time. St. Vincent's profits benefit Holy Cross Food Bank, Seton House, and Interfaith. The store also has a voucher program that is free and available to other social service agencies for their clients to receive clothing, household items, linens, and other available items. Please contact the store if your agency is interested in participating in the voucher program. St. Vincent is a Work Study location for Roosevelt High School and the ABLE program. We also accept community service participants that are in need of completing hours of service in Natrona County. Most of our community service participants are under 18. We provide a safe and structured environment for adolescents and teens to complete their hours. Please call first to make arrangements, we don not accept walk-ins for community service.

Health Services
Over the past century, Wyoming Medical Center has blazed a trail for the people of Wyoming, becoming the state’s largest, most comprehensive healthcare facility along the way.
Today, we remain committed to delivering quality general medical and family care in a safe, service-oriented environment. Understanding the value of convenience to patients and their loved ones, we also strive for flawless coordination of diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation, all through one medical campus.
As a Regional Trauma Center, we operate Wyoming Life Flight, the state’s only air ambulance program; an Emergency Room that treats 36,000 people a year; and a referral center that allows family doctors in small, rural towns to help their patients benefit from our extensive range of medical specialties, including two Centers of Excellence. In addition, we fly physicians to hometown clinics across the state to meet the needs of those who cannot travel to WMC for care.
Medical Staff
WMC supports a growing medical team of about 150 physicians and nearly 1,300 skilled staff. Many of our doctors have relocated from prestigious metropolitan medical centers to improve their personal quality of life and treat patients without the burden of managed care oversight. Despite the shift to a more rural lifestyle, these physicians maintain nationwide connections to other medical experts who often offer valuable guidance when needed.
More than 90 percent of our specialists are board certified, which means they have been tested against the highest standards in their fields. This ratio, well above the national average for medical communities, and the extensive, ongoing accredited training we provide illustrate our dedication to excellence.
Technology
WMC consistently invests in the latest technology and treatments. Our firsts for the state include a 64-slice CT scanner and a Stealth Station System, which greatly expands our capabilities for major head and spine operations. We also offer advanced, less invasive alternatives to surgery such as endovascular bypass for abdominal aortic aneurysm, eXtreme Lateral Interbody Fusion (XLIF) for lumbar degenerative disorders and deep brain stimulation for Parkinson’s disease and essential tremors.
Specialty Areas
Our two Centers of Excellence – the Heart Center of Wyoming and the Wyoming Neuroscience and Spine Institute – are at the forefront of the various state-of-the-art specialty services we offer.
