Often, persons needing assistance do not know what services are available to help them. Our Community Services Specialists provide information regarding the services available from CAPNC and other providers. Community Action Outreach is the first place a person can go to apply for services through our Community Services Block Grant and other programs. One can apply for any CSBG service provided either directly by our office or by our partner agencies. The Community Services Specialists will refer participants to other agencies when appropriate
We can also help with filling out forms (Kid Care, Food Stamps, LIEAP, etc.); searching for the best resources; making phone and written contacts; and community referrals and linkages.
CAPNC in cooperation with the Casper Area Workforce Investment Board has published the Natrona County Human Services Directory, which provides information on health and human service programs in Natrona County.
Advocacy
We serve as advocates to both low-income people and service providers to enable individual and families to meet their needs and live with a sense of dignity and pride.
CAPNC provides low-income families and individuals with tools to help them advocate on their own behalf, understand the process needed for change, and the importance of giving back to their community.
Advocacy includes speaking out on issues that affect low-income people We involve the community, public-elected officials, private-sector representatives and low-income residents in assessing local needs and attacking the causes and conditions of poverty.
