Community Action Partnership of Natrona County (CAPNC) provides a variety of employment and training programs.
Adult Employment Services
We offer the opportunity for job development, employment-seeking skills assistance, employer-outreach activities, referral to skills-training projects, and employment counseling for program participants. Resources and materials are available at our Community Action Outreach Center, including computer technology that offers individuals an opportunity to access labor market and career information, and to initiate job searches.
We can also help with:
- Preparing applications, résumés and cover letters through hands-on training.
- Preparing and practicing for interviews.
- Building self-esteem during the job-seeking experience.
- Understanding what employers look for in an applicant.
- Assisting individuals in locating available job openings both informally and formally.
- Preparing for general workplace expectations.
- Understanding what employers want in an employer.
- Teaching workplace behavior and attitudes necessary to compete and advance successfully in the labor market.
- Learning to accept and respect diversity in employers, co-workers, customers, etc.
- Learning how to dress for success.
- Learning positive communication skills.
- Balancing priorities.
- Administering Interest/Skill Inventories - Myers-Briggs and Strong Interest Inventories.
- Finding the "hidden job market".
- Job Coaching.
Participants must meet either CSBG or TANF eligibilty guidelines.
