3 nights per week and also place individuals in need of intense individualized instruction with volunteer tutors. Citizenship instruction available. (4) Literacy Volunteers of Casper - Trained volunteer tutors who are placed with students who could benefit from intensive one-to-one instructions.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Adults who can benefit from an academic program.
Fees: No fee for assessment or instruction. GED test fee at Casper College is $40.
Staff: Five full-time instructors and 2 part-time instructors.
Accreditation or License: Literacy Volunteers of Casper is an accredited affiliate of Literacy Volunteers of America, Inc.

Application Procedures: Referrals will be taken by any entity. Intake involves a program registration and an appropriate assessment.

SERVICES RENDERED: Public Education - Health awareness presentations for persons and groups of all ages.
Reach to Recovery - Support for mastectomy patients. Addresses the needs of women who have/have had breast cancer.
Look Good-Feel Better - A program for women cancer patients who are undergoing treatment, to help them improve their self-image by teaching them hands-on beauty techniques. Local licensed cosmetologists volunteer their time, and receive American Cancer Society training to present the program.
Breast Cancer Support Group - Meets the 2nd Thursday noon each month. Call for information at 235-0044.
Cancer Resource Center Located at 3rd and Fenway.
Professional Education - ACS publishes CA-A Cancer Journal for clinicians, which is directed to primary care physicians, as well as other literature and programs.
Man2Man Prostate Cancer Support Group. The Group meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month at Highland Park Church.
Sixty percent (60%) of all monies remain within Wyoming and forty percent (40%) goes to the National American Cancer Society for cancer research and support services.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Any diagnosed cancer patient is eligible to receive the $200 annual aid; but this aid is given only at the request of the attending physician. There is no interference in the patient/physician relationship.

Infant "educare", preschool, and kindergarten follow a whole-child curriculum. Quest school age program. Summer enrichment program.

OFFICE HOURS: 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday. Respite care is available 24 hours per day upon request.
SERVICES PROVIDED: Provides a variety of both direct and indirect program services to individuals with mental retardation/developmental disabilities and their families. Major program areas are:
1. Respite Care - temporary care of children and adults with mental retardation by trained respite care providers in and out of the home, as requested.
2. Advocacy - assistance to individuals and families affected by mental retardation, in educational, vocational, residential, treatment and other settings where changes of service are desired to better meet the needs of the consumer.
3. Information/Referral/Support - partners are found for children and adults with mental retardation in need of a non-disabled friend who will assist them in their efforts to participate in integrated social and recreational activities in the community. A parents' support group and network of parents with children with disabling conditions is available.
4. Casper Area Mainstream Projects - The Arc's first priority is inclusion or the integration of people with mental retardation in society as a whole. To that end, the Arc had traditionally offered camps on Casper Mountain for children and adults that are free of charge and the community is invited to participate in the hope that friendships between people with and without disabilities will be facilitated.
5. Prevention/Education - materials and brochures educating readers about mental retardation, fetal alcohol syndrome, the American Disabilities Act and other are distributed in the community and speakers can be scheduled by any group.
6. Child care training/placement - Inclusive child care training is available to child care providers of all ages. Focus is on meeting the physical and emotional need of children with mental retardation while effectively including them with non-disabled children in the programs.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: All people with mental retardation and their families living in Natrona County are served by The Arc of Natrona County. Respite care is provided in Natrona County and in adjacent counties whenever possible. Membership is encouraged and suggested, but not required.
Fees: A sliding fee scale is available for respite care, but if child or adult is approved to receive services under Medicaid waivers, respite care is free. All other services are free to consumers.
Staff: Executive Director, administrative assistant, Respite Director, Inclusion Program Director, Respite Care Providers/Inclusion Aides Director.
Accreditation or Licenses: The Arc's Respite care project is certified by the Wyoming Division of Developmental Disabilities.

SERVICES PROVIDED: BBBS offers several types of mentoring opportunities. One-to-one matches meet 2 4 times a month or a minimum of 6 months. School based matches meet 1 hour per week for 1 academic semester. Group matches meet in an after-school setting.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: BBBS serves children ages 5 16 regardless of family structure or socio-economic status.

SERVICES RENDERED: Blue Envelope was founded in 1958. It is an all-volunteer organization committed to the health of our community by promoting wellness through education, prevention and early detection, with the focus on Cancer, Heart Disease and Mental Health. The Blue Envelope Health Fund envisions that every individual valuing health and practicing strategies that promote wellness will improve our community. BEHF accomplished its goals through four divisions.
The Cancer Division works with Oncology patients to aid with patient support services. Patient Assistance Fund is to provide limited assistance to individuals for items that may include: food, housing, clothing, and personal emergencies. Emergency Medication Fund is to provide limited assistance to individuals for emergency medications.
The Heart Division of the Blue Envelope Health Fund exists to aid those who experience Heart Disease and help educate the public through prevention programs. The Heart Division funds some equipment purchases for needs associated with Heart Disease for use at WMC and other treatment facilities. There is a limited Patient Assistance Fund for those that qualify. On-going programs include: CPR classes, Strep Throat Culture Swab Program and a Cardiac Rehabilitation Program.
The Mental Health Division of BEHF seeks to aid in providing needed mental health services to members of our community. BE support of CWCC helps serve as a base for some matching funds to the center.
The Wellness Division of BEHF includes the Blue Envelope Health Fair, The Blue Envelope Loan Closet and education for making healthy choices in daily life.
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: None. If a person is requesting financial assistance for heart disease or cancer, he/she will be screened by a BEHF representative to assess need. Loan equipment is free as long as the assessed need exists.

SERVICES PROVIDED: Statewide information and referral is available on brain injury issues such as therapy services, rehabilitation, educational materials, financial resources, and prevention. Information is centralized to help families or other involved individuals access services, which are available in the most time-efficient and stress-reducing methods possible. Support Groups BIAW has several support groups throughout the state. If you, or somebody you know, is interested in finding out more about Support Group meeting times and places; or if you are interested in organization of a Support Group in your area. ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS: Traumatic Brain Injury, Stroke, Seizures.
Fees: No fees, however respite is limited to 20 hours per month/per family. No fees for other services.
