Community Action Agencies and Associations
Community Action Partnership Established in 1972, the Community Action Partnership is the national association representing the interests of the 1,000 Community Action Agencies (CAAs) organized to fight poverty at the local level. Wyoming Community Action Partnership Wyoming Community Action Partnership partners with Community Action Agencies and other anti-poverty organizations to help them grow professionally, enhance the quality of their services, and improve the lives of low-income people in Wyoming. Community Action of Laramie County, Inc. a community action program in Cheyenne, Wyoming. NASCSP, National Association for State Community Services Programs) The Community Services Block Grant (CSBG), administered by the states, provides core funding to Community Action Agencies to reduce poverty, revitalize low-income communities and to empower low-income families to become self-sufficient. Health Care for the Homeless and Community Health Center Associations National Health Care for the Homeless Council, Inc. The National Health Care for the Homeless Council is a membership organization of health care providers working with homeless people across the United States. The Council exists to help bring about reform of the health care system to best serve the needs of people who are homeless. National Association of Community Health Centers The National Association of Community Health Centers is the national trade association serving and representing the interests of Americas community health centers. CHAMPS (Community Health Association of Mountain/Plain States) The Community Health Association of Mountain/Plains States (CHAMPS), located in Denver, CO, is a nonprofit membership association of community, migrant and homeless health centers (CHCs) in Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming. CHAMPS was founded in 1985 to unite Region VIII health centers in an advocacy and mutual support network of these community-based providers of primary care and related services for underserved communities in the Mountain and Plains states. Wyoming Primary Care Association The Wyoming Primary Care Association (WPCA) is a membership-based organization of ambulatory primary health care providers, plus other interested individuals and organizations. Established in 1996, the WPCA focuses principally on issues relating to health care access and ambulatory care programs, such as community health clinics, health care for homeless clinics, migrant health clinics, rural health clinics, and family practice clinics and programs. Generally speaking, WPCA member organizations serve patients/clients without discrimination on a financial or other basis. U.S. Government Sites AmeriCorps*VISTA For 35 years, AmeriCorps*VISTA has been helping bring communities and individuals out of poverty. Today, nearly 6,000 AmeriCorps*VISTA members serve in hundreds of nonprofit organizations and public agencies throughout the country -- working to fight illiteracy, improve health services, create businesses, increase housing opportunities, or bridge the digital divide. United States Census Bureau United States Department of Commerce Health Care Robert Wood Johnson Foundation The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation was established as a national philanthropy in 1972 and today it is the largest US foundation devoted to improving the health and health care of all Americans. We concentrate our grantmaking in four areas.
Wyoming Covering Kids Project Through funding by the Robert Wood Johnson and direction from the Wyoming Department of Health, Wyoming Covering Kids assists families in accessing health care for their children. |
